Sitges carnival: world famous
Sitges is located just 40 minutes by train from Barcelona, and is the perfect place to spend a day outside the city and even more for the carnival celebrations.
For one full week the Sitges Carnival transmits joy to thousands of people who come especially looking for fun and a unique atmosphere. The colored floats rumbled with caribbean rhythms also accompanied by original choreographies and costumes.
The parades, or better known as “Ruas” are a true example of artistic creativity. The most expected is the “Rua de la Disbauxa” which takes place on Sunday with over 40 floats, and the “Rua de l’Extermini” which actually is the most colorful and symbolic parade of the carnival and is the day when Melon District takes its residents every year.
It’s something you can not miss if you come to visit Barcelona. If you need to book accommodation for these dates, we suggest that you book a room at Melon District, where you’ll get better value for money than at a regular hotel or hostel.
