The Aquarium of Barcelona
This aquarium is number 2 of the top 10 of the sites to visit in Barcelona, recommended by Melon District.
Since it opened on the 8th of September 1995, the Aquarium of Barcelona has welcome more than 14 million visitors.
Based in Port Vell, in the district of Barceloneta, the aquarium offers an amazing experience that will delight both children and adults. Inside you will find:
- 14 mediterranean aquariums
- 7 tropical aquariums
- The oceanarium, which is unique in Europe, has a 80m path, that creates the illusion that you are walking on the seabed
- An exposition about the aquatic world that spans a 3,500 year period
- A mini-aquarium
- An interactive space “Explora” to teach children about the aquatic world
So, the aquarium invites you to enter into a magical and mysterious world, with more than 11 000 sea creatures of 450 different species.

Open all year long, from 9h30 to 21h00 (Monday to Friday), 21h30 (weekends, bank holidays, June/September), 23h00 (July/August), at a price of €17 per adult, and €12.75 per child between 4-12 years old.
